This group of three little zippered bag projects is so easy! There’s a zipper, but it is so EASY that you will want to make at least one set of three of these great little organizers. The best zipper for this project is Susa Glenn’s Bag and Tote Zipper.* If you want to add a little wristlet handle, you can make one using Susa Glenn’s GreatDrape! and a Little Turning Tool. Just sew the handle ends into the side seam below the zipper pull location when the bag is closed. Add a long piece of fabric covered Great Drape! to the bag with safety pins inside the bag (or a fabric channel sewn onto the back side of the bag and voila! you have created an upscale Fanny Pack or Necklace Bag! This is a versatile pattern group indeed!
These little zippered bags are sized perfectly for all of Susa Glenn Designs’ Japanese Family Crests (3” and 4” sizes) and Texas Cowboy Crests (3” and 4” sizes) so you can easily make additional styles just by using other favorite embroidery designs. Use the design that is printed on the pattern front for placement reference.
The finished dimensions of the little bags shown above are: Bag with Butterfly, 6" wide X 1.25" thick X 5.5" tall; Bag with Curved Butterfly, 7.5" wide X 2" thick X5" tall; Bag with Pair of Butterflies, 6" wide X 1.5" thick X 3.5" tall.
*Please note that this is a different type of zipper installation than my regular bag zipper installation so you do not need the Pellon Craft Fuse interfacing #808.
These little bags to embroider are padded and lined. If you use the recommended zipper, people won't believe you made them yourself! If you want to add more embellishment to your embroidered zippered bags, consider using a Beaded Tassel Kit.
