Description
She is the perfect gift for any toddler's mother who is having lapses into madness and is actually missing pregnancy because she needs someone to fill that empty lap. The Crazy Lap Chicken is also a great birth control device. Just hold tightly to the chicken, croon to it and rock back and forth. You may get some strange looks, but nobody will come near you.
You can make her crazy or from whole cloth. You can make her from any piecing block design you please! Just make three 10.5”X10.5” blocks (block size includes seam allowances), use two for the body top and one for the underbody. You can paper piece her or “flip & sew” and then cut to the size of the paper patterns provided.
Included are the following to make one Crazy Lap Chicken:
Detailed instructions
3 pattern sheets for paper piecing (printed front and back so you don’t go crazy)
All the fancy glass beads needed for comb, wattles, and eyes
Wire and rope for the feet interior structure.
You will need to supply:
Fabrics: at least 6 fabrics (more is better) for the crazy piecing. Can be made from scraps at least 5”X7” in size. · fat quarter (18”X21”) for tail and underbody · If making from whole cloth, you will need 1/2 yard of fabric for the body and tail pieces. · 10”X12” fabric for the feet · 6”X6” fabric for the beak
2/3 yard of craft weight sew-in interfacing such as Ultra Firm by HTC® (27” wide).
High quality poly fill for stuffing
If making the chicken crazy style, you will need to supply all additional embellishments including trinkets and decorative threads.
