Registration jump stitches were included in each design and occur just after the basting rectangle. Juncture stitch locations are marked on the paper embroidery templates. Stop the embroidery machine just after the basting rectangle and step it forward through this jump stitch to verify that the registration is acceptable. The next juncture stitch follows immediately. For example: The Skeleton Leaf's critical juncture is at the point where it will attach to the stem end. The jump stitch will be on one side of the stem juncture and the next stitch will be on the other side of the stem juncture. Make tiny adjustments at the machine (if necessary) to make the attachment perfect.

critical positioning stitches are included

These combined designs are a great way to expand your machine embroidery skills!

Because the Skeleton Leaf design is not a solid fill, it does not take forever to stitch out. The long stems are graceful and cover a lot of area in a relatively short time. They are set up so that you can flip every other one to make long serpentine vines to embellish quilt borders, table cloths, and more. In addition, this group of designs has been tested on sweatshirt material and the results were fabulous!

You can use your software to combine and rearrange the designs of this collection, or you can simply print out the supplied design templates and lay out your design using them. No additional work at the computer is required. All design lay out work can be done with printed paper templates and all machine embroidery combining can be done at the embroidery machine. The largest Embroidery Art Part design of this group will fit into a 5”X7” hoop. Look through the information here to learn more about working with embroidery layout templates.

Each design is set up to work correctly with the others. You will need to organize the sequence of embroidering correctly to be successful. Always stitch out the main stem first. Then stitch the parts that touch it. When you have a sequence of stems such as a long serpentine vine that meanders diagonally across the back of a jacket, begin at the bottom of the sequence and work your way to the top. Juncture stitches are always at the bottom of stem pieces and attach to the preceding stem’s top.

Each download comes in the following embroidery machine file formats: EXP, HUS, DST, EMD, JEF, PEC, PES, VIP, XXX. Each digitized embroidery design download comes with printable templates (original and mirrored), stitch and thread color information, plus recommended instructions for working with embroidery design templates.

Follow these instructions for organizing your downloaded files so that the instructions, templates, and thread color information are kept together with the correct digitized design:

1. Purchase the file of your choice. All of the embroidery file formats (EXP, HUS, DST, EMD, JEF, PEC, PES, VIP, XXX) are included in each download.  Click the "download files" button. The file will download to your desktop (or where you specify). It will be marked by the bird embroidery scissors icon. Right click on the icon, choose "Send To" then "My Documents".

2. Go to "My Documents". Create a new folder called Susa Glenn Designs (or whatever you please) where you keep your embroidery designs so that you will have a place to keep all of your Susa Glenn Designs embroidery files together. This will come in handy later as many of these designs can be used together to make larger designs.

3. Find the new download in My Documents. It is probably near the bottom of the list, but it could be alphabetized. Click to highlight it and drag and drop it into the folder where you want to keep Susa Glenn Designs downloads.

4. Open the folder where you just put the file  and find it again. Double click on it to open it. Click "run". Allow the files to go into the default folder. Click "unzip". Click "close". The folder with the default name will appear in the same folder  and all of the downloaded files will be inside it. You can then delete the original download file to save on computer memory. You can also delete the machine files that are in formats that you do not want.
