Description
You can use FishLips as a sewing chatelaine (neckwear/ fashion statement); sewing tools fit in the pockets on his belly & glasses fit inside his mouth. His friend is a needle case and tucks inside another belly pocket. FishLips also works as a child’s shoulder bag or water bottle carrier and his friend doubles as a coin purse. And, if you’re married to a red neck, your husband can slide his beer bottle inside FishLips & use him as a koozie when he goes to the boat show.
In addition to this kit, you will need the following to make this project:
4 fat quarters (18”X22”) of fabric with good contrast: 1 for Fishlips’ body & his friend’s fins & tail; 1 for his friend’s body, FishLips’ mouth lining, & FishLips’ fins & tail; 1 to cover the rope handle (FishLips’ whiskers – he’s a catfish, remember); plus a part of one for FishLips’ lips (high contrast works best).
12”X22” Pellon Craft-Fuse iron- on interfacing.
9”X14” HTCW UltraFirm interfacing to give body to FishLips’ body
A little batting to plump up FishLips’ body
4”X8” of heavy duty vinyl for the needle guard (needle case)
4”X4” of felt for the needle case’s needle holder
A Velcro® dot or a snap for a closure if his friend is to be a coin purse
