free download so that you can see not only the quality of my designs
but also the items that come with my designs as standard features.
PLEASE NOTE! ALL OF THE FREE DESIGNS COME WITH BASTING RECTANGLES. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, please read the free tutorial here.
Please remember to start stitching with the second thread color. I
realize this sounds a little crazy, but different embroidery machines
behave differently so in order to be sure that the basting rectangle
will work properly on all home embroidery machines I have to digitize a
starting color that is not used. It's complicated. If you want to order additional items that go with this product, please add them to your cart from the bottom of this page.
I bundle my embroidery designs with pdf files of instructions and paper templates for printing. All of the different embroidery file formats are included in the download (just delete the ones you don't want to keep - right click on the ones you don't want, then click "delete").
The
files available here have been
compressed into .ZIP format. You can UnZIP them using WinZip or WinRAR, or WinXP's 'Extract To' feature.
Finished
pillow size: about 15"X15" including the flanges. Use a 12"X12" pillow
insert. Total stitched designs: 9 (4 Forgetmenots and 5 Bugs). Total embroidery stitches in
project: 55,364. Included are: 2 digitized designs in these formats:
.EXP, .HUS, .DST, .EMD, .JEF, .PEC, .PES, .VIP, .XXX.
DESIGN SIZE AND STITCH INFORMATION: Forgetmenot
design is 4.02"X7" (including the basting rectangle), 13,443 stitches,
with 3 colors excluding the positioning stitch. Little Gnatty Bug is
2.56"X2.67" (including the basting rectangle), 325 stitches, with 2
colors excluding the positioning stitch.
Placement
templates, the master layout template with pillow pattern, and thread
color charts (all PDF files) are also included. Adobe Acrobat Reader is
NOT included with the download. Use the link at the bottom of the page
to download it so you can open the PDF files.

Machine embroidery thread (numbers are Robison-Anton brand, Rayon
40 wt.):
Snow White #2297 (flower centers and bug wings)
Indian Ocean Blue #2518 (flower petals)
Palmetto Green #2229 (stems & leaves)
Dark Rust #2205 (bug bodies)
Supplies List for this double flanged machine embroidered pillow:
2/3 yard exterior fabric (crisp drapery weight fabric such
as linen (shown), duck, or denim recommended). Quilter's weight cotton can be used if heavily starched before embroidering.
2/3 yard contrasting fabric of similar weight
1 yard medium weight sew-in non-woven interfacing (for
adding body to the finished project)
12”X12” pillow insert (feather or faux down)
4 tufts of polyester fiber-fill to plump the corners of the
pillow case before inserting the pillow insert.
1.5” diameter button (I like shank buttons-to-cover with
matching fabric for this project).
The embroidery stabilizer of your choice. I used a paper
tear-away.
8.5”X11” paper for printing the pattern/master layout and
templates.
